Though I love having my Lancer and having owned it for the past 6 years, tons of memories will always remain in me with that car, but as they say “change is inevitable”. My main goal for next year and the one that’s really pushing me to save up, is day-dreaming of having a new set of wheels … a Kia Picanto to be more specific … I’m really fallin’ in love with that car.

Engine On-Hold

September 5, 2005

I had to re-schedule my car engines tune-up this week to give way to the sudden misfortune of a busted tire. One of my tires, specifically the one situated at the back-right side of my car blew up when I was on my way home a few days back. Since my spare tire doesn’t have the same height, size and rim design as my current one’s, I used the money I’ve alloted to the supposed engine tune-up.

I’ve convinced myself to get a pair of it so as to prevent future blow ups. I bought brand new tires last june which is currently situated in the two front wheels, the back wheels got the second hand tires, but now 4 wheels got the same new one’s on each, the ride’s smoother with less bumps on it’s shocks and I can be sure that I won’t be pulling my wheel jack in the next few months because of another tire blowing up … I just hope my engine can slug it out until next pay day. :(

I bought this head unit to upgrade my aging worn out stereo that I have in my car, it’s been wasted for several years now, that it just had to die. Well it’s not really an upgrade in the purest form, you see, I got it 2nd hand from a member of a club I joined a few months back, it’s great to be part of it, I get to learn everything about cars and stuff like that, but for the most part I like the “advertising” section, where you get to find all sorts of things to customize the look and performance for your car. Back with the topic, it’s an old Pioneer cassette based head-unit that I got for P1000, everything was a-ok and I wasn’t expecting it to work as if it’s brand-new, I just wanted it to work that’s it. There was one tiny bit of a problem though, I didn’t came with an instruction manual, so I had to hire someone to junk my old stereo out of my car and replace it with this somewhat-new one.

I also bought new speakers (seps) to add more boost in line with sound enhancement in my car. It’s a blaupunkt GTc 172 speakers that I installed on each front doors and the separates (the little tiny circle thinga-magig) is situated on each of the sides of my dashboard, now this one I bought brand new. It’s been long-overdue to upgrade my sound-setup, the last as I recall was replacing my beat-old speakers with a 6x9 one (I don’t recall the brand of it though).

Everythings been taken cared-of, my car now sounds great, bass and treble didn’t sound so alluring in my ears until now. One more thing to add to it, I also bought something to attach my Nomad Jukebox onto my stereo, now I don’t have to bring those bulky tapes with me all the time, I got them albums in one comfy mp3 player.
